AAFES NEW AVENGERS 5 p01 original art by CLIFF RICHARDS
Artists Cliff Richards penciled, and Joe Pimentel inked, this issue of AAFES - New Avengers 5 from Marvel Comics!
For the last several years, Marvel has published a giveaway comic in conjunction with AAFES (Army, Air Force Exchange Service) in support of those serving in the military. This year's story was published under the "New Avengers" title as issue 5 of the AAFES run. I mention this so as not to confuse this book with the "regular" issue 5 of New Avengers.
In this story, Captain America (recently killed during the Marvel "Civil War"), has left a personal recorded message for Tony (Iron Man) Stark, asking him to look into after the Matthews siblings, one serving in the Army overseas, the other with the National Guard in America. Cap thinks they may have uncovered an infiltration by A.I.M. (Advanced Idea Mechanics). Since he's been unable to do this himself, he asks his friend to put aside their differences and look into this--not for Cap, but for the country!
This original art, measuring approximately 11" x 17", is illustrated on standard weight comic art illustration board.
