Artist Wilson Tortosa pencilled this issue of Battle of the Planets, published by Image/Top Cow!
This original art, measuring approximately 11" x 16", is illustrated on plain paper.
This series was adapted from the American animated series "Battle of the Planets", which in turn was based on the original Japanese series "Kagaku Ninjatai Gatchaman" (Science Ninja Team Gatchaman) known by the shorthanded title "Gatchaman".
Each version has it's own internal continuity--which often conflicts with the other versions. For the purposes of this series, the story is as follows: The International Science Organization, headed by Chief Anderson, has taken five children and given them biological and electronic enhancements, to basically turn them into super-ninjas, or G-Force. G-1 is Mark, the Eagle; G-2 is Jason, the Condor; G3 is Princess, the Swan; G-4 is Keyop, the Swallow, and G-5 is Tiny, the Horned Owl.
They're trying to prevent Zoltar, of Planet Spectra, from taking over the Earth using advanced giant mobile weapons in the shape of symbolic animals, known collectively as "Mecha". G-Force employs similar technology, it's origins hinted at during the course of the series, and each member of G-Force has a "personal vehicle" that functions as a "mini Mecha" for each of them.
Brigadier General Andreas Tomak, the Commander-in-Chief of Earth's combined military, opposes the G-Force Program, but President Kane, after seeing the team in action, decides to support G-Force, and Anderson, in the fight against Spectra!
This page depicts Chief Anderson and General Tomak squaring off over the interrogation of G-Force!
